At the swimming competition Gary Lough went into the water to pull out a child in difficulty.

Wednesday 28th October

P6 & P7 took part in a sponsored walk for Wildlife Conservation in Tardree Forest. £459 was raised. The largest single collection was made by Michael Church £40.50

November 3rd

Miss McClelland spent the day with the infants. In the evening she spoke to the parents.

Christmas 1981

Jennifer Semple won first prize in the Chamber of Commerce Xmas Card Design Comepetition.

Our Carol Service was held on 18th December. So many parents came that many had to stand in the foyer. The collection of £85.60 was divided amongst Dr Barnardos, N.I.C.O.D. and Christian Aid.

After the service, the P.A. arranged for Santa to visit all the classes with gifts.

Most of P.6 and P.7 took part in the P.A.C.E. Service at night.

Larne Road Safety Committee Colouring Competition – well done our infants!

Mrs Kewley from Dept. of Education visited us for three days in February.

Parents’ Association

P7 contributed their story of St. Patrick to the March meeting of the P.A. L.G.S. Dramatic Society was also there.

The photographer came to school in March.

Mr Foster from R.S.P.B. came to talk to P.6 and P.7 in May. These classes are doing the World Wildlife Bronze Award

Gary Lough went with Mr Burns to County Hall on May 25th to collect a certificate in connection with the Poetry Anthology.

In May we had a visit from the N.F.E.R. assessor who talked to and recorded eight senior boys.

P1 went to Whitehead by train. Mrs Morrow is teaching P1 for two terms while Mrs Andrews is off.

Mr McAdoo came to visit all classes to see them at work in R.E.

Disaster!

The rains came. We managed to run off races, but the prize giving was held off to the next day. Mrs Hemming was the chief guest.
