Theatre Visit

Marian Wells Theatre came to school in September and told the story of the ballet, The Sleeping Princess.

H.M.S. Antrim, one of the heroes of the Falklands conflict arrived in Larne on October 14th. P5, 6 & 7 went to welcome the destroyer.

October 28

P6 & P7 Wildlife Walk in Tardree Forest. £510 was collected.

November 6th

A number of pupils went forward to the Ulster Finals of the Minor Swimming Championships. Mark Sittlington won a silver, Michael Church 3 bronze and the boys’ relay (Michael, Mark, Kenneth, Neil) a bronze and Leigh McClelland a bronze.

The Ulster Orchestra came to school. St Mary’s, St Joseph’s, Moyle came too.

Christmas 1982

17th December – Carol Service. Collection – £50 to each society.

P.7 took part with St. Mary’s in P.A.C.E. service at Gloucester Park Centre.

Adrian McCourt spoke ‘live’ to David Bellamy on the N.I. radio schools’ programme.

Easter 1983

34 pupils and 4 staff went to London.

Summer Term Collections

We collected almost £200 each for NSPCC and Christian Aid.

Northern Bank Poster competition

Alan Black won third prize. Colin Craig, Alastair McAuley, Louanne Purdy, Lee Ann Cosgrove and Dionne Saunderson all had work exhibited.

We had to run off races later in the week. Mrs Callaghan came to give out prizes on the last day of term. The cup winners were : –
