Year 2 have been fantastic shape detectives in Numeracy. We have been learning all about 3D shapes!
We started with 3D Shape Bingo - Year 2 loved listening carefully to the clues and finding the correct shapes on their boards. There were lots of excited shouts of "BINGO!"
Next, we became Shape Investigators using playdough to explore the faces on different 3D shapes. We discovered that cubes have square faces and cylinders have circular faces - brilliant conclusions!
Finally, we used our observation skills to recreate 3D shapes from photographs. The children worked really hard to notice all the details and build accurate models.
What fantastic mathematicians Year 2 are!
