Your update for
The Scoop
October 2026
Hello October!
It feels like the first day of school was a long time ago, but at the same time September has flown in!
In September, we benefited greatly from our vibrant harbour community, participating in a brilliant Global Safety Day at Larne Port and attending Merchant Navy Day to honor the Merchant Marine and commemorate the loss of the SS Athenia during WWII.
In October we’ll be smiling for the school photographer and organising opportunities for parents/carers to meet with class teachers.
This issue of The Scoop is your main update for October; any breaking news or date reminders will be shared directly through your child's class Seesaw.

Choir on Tour
We were delighted to be invited to Larne Congregational Church's Civic Sunday Service, where some of our amazing choir performed! Catch a sneak peek on our Facebook and Instagram pages, or watch the full performance right here.
Next up: Christmas! 🎄 The choir is officially starting to prep their festive material, and we are actively looking for venues to tour.
The Olderfleet Blog
We've added two fantastic new read-ups to our blog! Mrs Godfrey and Miss Morrow dive into the Olderfleet approach to preparing children for the SEAG assessment. Meanwhile, Mrs Baird reflects on her inspiring journey toward becoming a Level 3 Forest School Leader.
Class Catch Up
Our first class catch-ups for this school year are up and ready! Find out which class was painting with blackberries, which class was exploring a digraph’s job within a word, and which class used silly string during literacy.
We’re always finding wonder and joy in learning!
We’ll be keeping you up-to-date through Seesaw for any reminders of dates or breaking news. You can also stay in the loop by checking our calendar to see what’s on in our school.
